This is my journey of leaving a controlling church and venturing toward a deeper spirituality.

I grew up an Orthodox Christian (in a priest’s family, no less) but left to join an evangelical church and youth group in college. Over time I began to see the unhealthy and controlling aspects of this group, and after several years left with a bruised faith and an uncertainty of where to go next.

I’m now a very unofficial religions student currently exploring the spiritual wilderness and learning theology at the very unofficial university that is my kitchen table. I’m sorting through the good and truthful from the warped and twisted. I am a modern woman exploring the ancient faith of Orthodoxy, and trying to find where, in all of this, I belong.
