Both my fingers and my phone froze up but I somehow managed to get a picture from this peaceful stop by the harbor yesterday. These sub-zero days have filled the air with sea smoke, and the harbor was singing with the sound of the freezing ice. As much as I can't wait for the temps to rise again, the Lake has been extra stunning this last week or so and I'm continually in awe of the magic of winter.
Surrounded by my succulents while drinking desert sage tea, gifted by a guest from New Mexico. I think I'm trying to trick my brain into forgetting the Arctic weather. You know it's been cold when you start dreaming every night that it's spring 😬
Leif and I hiked all afternoon through familiar places that seemed new, thanks to the logging work you can see in the background.
Happy winter solstice, everyone 🌓❄️
